Bearettes finish second in Eustace silver bracket

Playing in the Eustace Tournament August 23-25 the Bearettes claimed second place in the silver bracket.

After losing two of three games in pool play the Bearettes opened up tournament play in the silver bracket against Mildred.

Brownsboro took the game easily winning 25-10 and 25- 11. Amber Strickland was dominate from the servers line as she served 11 straight points and later 8 straight points.

In their second game of the tournament the Bearettes faced off against Winona. After winning the first set 25- 23 the Bearettes fell in the second set 25-20.

The Bearettes rallied back to win the final set 25-22 and advance to the silver bracket title game against Grand Saline. Chelsea Chimney had 2 kills against Winona while Hillary Shaffer had 4 blocks.

Brownsboro edged Grand Saline 25-23 in the first set before falling 25-15 and 25- 17. Naomi Scott had a block for the Bearettes and Chimney added four kills.

Prior to the tournament the Bearettes defeated Kemp in Kemp 26-24, 25-20 and 29-27.

Heading into Tuesday's home game against Mount Pleasant the Bearettes record on the season stood at 7-4.

Brownsboro will play in Jacksonville this Friday beginning at 4:30pm.
