Lake Palestine U.M.C.
Barbara Cade

Our church received some extremely sad and unexpected news last week with the passing of Ray Williams. He has been an integral part of the music program here at the church since the very beginning, and more than that, he has been a great Christian friend to everyone. Words won't even express how much we will miss him, but we do know for sure that he is with his Savior, and we will all meet again another day. Our prayers are with Barbara and her family.

In other news, Linda Massey had to fly to Ft. Worth from North Carolina this week to be with her sister. Her sister's husband had a heart attack. He is now doing better and Linda is back in North Carolina.

Lillian Stegall has been traveling. She was on her way to visit family and friends, we think, in Mississippi last Friday.

Ken and Barb Cade took a Labor Day trip to Iowa. The weather was beautiful up there this time of year. Of course Ken did a little antiquing while he ws there.

We are happy to hear that Carla Fisher's sister-in-law is doing better following a recent illness.

Everett Kuykendall had a setback in his illness. He developed pneumonia and had to go into ICU. We hope he is much better as of this writing. We are praying for both he and Jane.

Mary Ann Whisenhunt had back surgery last Friday.

Our prayers are with Joy Willadsen on her recent illness. We know she will be doing much better soon.

Of course, the church is still preparing for the Dyanna Dawn concert which will be held September 15th (Saturday) at 6:30 p.m. down by the lake. She is a country and gospel singer who has performed all over the country with many big name country artists. The concert is free. Refreshments will be sold by the youth. Also, many, many door prizes will be given away that night. So, everyone, plan on bringing your lawn chairs out to enjoy a great evening of music by the lake.
