1st Baptist Chandler
by Joanne Davis

Wow, Where has the summer gone? Here we are in September already and the kids are all back to school. Football season has started and soon the nights will be turning cooler. I love the fall. Up north, the leaves will begin to turn within the next couple of weeks, but we will need to wait a bit longer for ours to turn.

Fall signals the start of many activities as well. Soon we will be starting up some Sunday evening classes again. I'm not sure just what all we will be offering, but we will announce the classes very soon. These classes are a great way to learn more about the wonderful God we serve as well as some very practical information about daily living.

At First Baptist we are a Bible believing and teaching church. It is our desire to see Jesus radically change lives. He can change your life if you will give Him the opportunity. Do you spend time daily reading your Bible? Have you set aside a special time of day to get alone with God?

You will be surprised how much better your day will be if you take time early in the morning to get alone with God in prayer. If you need a prayer guide, the new Open Windows booklet is available on the front table. Pick up a copy and let it give you some guidance.

Fifth Quarter get togethers are again planned to follow the home football games. Since the first home game is Homecoming, no Fifth Quarter will be held that Friday. We will start our Fifth Quarter post-game gatherings with the second home game.

With the fall season, our GA's, Pre-teen Boys, Sunday School classes and other activities are again in full swing.

They still need supplies.(Actually keeping the supply cabinet filled is an ongoing project.) Some of the needs we have to resupply this closet include: crayons, markers, drawing & construction paper, poster boards, scissors, pens, pencils, erasers, stickers, stamps and stamp pads, glue sticks, colored pencils. How about you? Can you donate something to this closet? Let's keep the children well supplied for their activities.

If you long for a life that has significance and meaning and do not have a church home please join us Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School and at 11:00 a.m.for our morning worship. If you have younger children, we also have a Children's Church (Castle) for those up through 3rd grade.

Our Sunday evening services are held at 6:00 p.m. Nurseryis provided for our Sunday services. Wednesday evening services begin at 6:30 p.m. Why not come and join us.
