Velma Duran Bailey

Services for Mrs. Velma Duran Bailey, 67. of Eustace, Texas, were held Sunday, September 2, 2007, at Eustace Church of Christ with Minister Don Bentley officiating.

Burial was in Morehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace, under direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home of Athens, Texas.

Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Church of Christ who loved God and Jesus with all her heart. She never met a stranger and was always friendly to everyone.

Mrs. Bailey died Friday, August 31, 2007 at ETMC-Athens, Texas. She was born Friday, December 1, 1939 in Tyler, Texas, to Roy Lawrence and Ruth Smith.

She was married September 9, 1996 in Eustace, Texas to Johnny Bailey. Her occupation was a peace officer.

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Joe Duran; and brother, Floyd Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Bailey; sisters, Patsy Osborne, Laura Neely and Edna Latson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Morton, Jim Bailey, Wade Morton, Jeff Bramblet, Tad Morton and Corey Perkins.
