What's Happening The Homecoming Community Pep-Rally is Friday, September 14 at the Football Field in Brownsboro and will start at 9am. If there is rain there will be two pep-rallies in the high school gym. The Homecoming pregame ceremonies begin at 7pm. Brownsboro ISD has a vacancy on the Board of Trustee due to a resignation and is seeking applications of persons interested in serving their community as a trustee. If interested contact Elton Caldwell, Superintendent or Elaine Goode, Secretary to the Superintendent. Applications will be accepted through Friday, September 28 at 3:30pm. CBACC luncheon will be held at noon on September 20 at San Pedros in Chandler. Gold Rush Car Show, Saturday, September 15 student parking lot of Brownsboro High School. Show begins at 9:30am with awards handed out at 3:30. Show registration is $20 and there will be a $2 show fee for spectators. Those entering a car-truck or bike need to be there between 8-9:30am. The show is sponsored by the Golden Girls. On September 18th at 11:30 AM, the Texas Democratic Women of Henderson County will meet at Democratic Headquarters in Athens, just off the Square at 207 North Prarieville. Story-time for preschoolers will resume at the Chandler Public Library beginning Thursday, September 13, at 10:00 AM. Interested persons can call the library at 903-849-4122 for more information. Porch Sale at the library on Saturday, September 15, will benefit Women's Unity Fellowship and the Friends of the Chandler Public Library. There will be lots of Christmas decorations for sale as well as miscellaneous items. Brownsboro Little Dribblers will have an organizational meeting on Sunday, September 23 at 2:30pm in the cafeteria at Chandler Elementary. The elections of officers and review and voting on local bylaws will occur during the meeting. All coaches and parents are encouraged to attend. TVCC and the Small Business Development Center will offer classes this fall for those interested in starting their own business. "Starting a Successful Small Business", will be taught by SBDC Director Mike Ellsberry. Classes began on Sept. 6 from 6-8 p.m. and run through Sept. 27. Great Wall China Adoption - Free informational meeting, September 22, 1:30 - 4:30,Tyler Public Library, 201 S. College Ave Tyler. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend. The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens.
