John Robert Hagains

Services for Mr. John Robert Hagains, 83, of Bedford, formerly of the Chandler area for 23 years, were held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at West Lake Baptist Church, Chandler, with the Rev. Bob Sexton officiating.

Burial was in Goodgame Cemetery, Athens at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.

He died September 4, 2007 in Bedford, Texas. He was born March 20, 1924 in Athens, Texas.

Mr. Hagains was a member of West Lake Baptist Church. He retired as an airline mechanic for Braniff. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia C. Hagains, Bedford; son, Terry L. Hagains, Bedford; daughter, Annette Smith, Arlington; sister, Mallissa Woodruff, Beaumont; 3 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Hagains, Rodney Kinsey, Wayne Kinsey, William Carrol, Junior Cheatham, Lloyd Starr, Charles Hagains, Eddie Lamb.
