Fifth Sunday singing is going to be at Union Hill this month at 6 p.m. We always have a good time and refreshments are awesome.

Our Game Nights have been moved to the 3rd Saturday in the month at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come to the fellowship hall and join in the fun and food, regardless of what church you attend.

Starting October 7th at 5 p.m. we will begin a new youth group for 6th-10th. That first meeting will be a brainstorming session to see what our individual expectations are for the group. Again, you do not have to attend this church to come and enjoy each other's company.

Our thoughts and prayers continue for Betty and Joe Fitzgerald as she continues on the road to recovery. We saw Emerson and Virginia Chapman and his physical therapy is slow but progressing. We hope he is home soon and that all are back with us in our service along with Joan and Elmer Dungan.

We love and miss you all when you're not at worship with us.

I heard of a country preacher who was preaching from a text in Matt. 4:24: "And they brought unto Jesus all sick people that were taken with divers diseases." He said, "Now, the doctors can examine you, diagnose you, medicate you, and cure a whole lot of your ills, but if you've got `divers disease' it will take the Good Lord to heal you. And, Brothers and Sisters, there is a regular epidemic of `divers diseases ' in our midst."

"Some DIVE into their change purse for pennies when the offering plate is passed. Some DIVE for the TV set on Sunday nights instead of making their way to the house of the Lord. Some DIVE for their car and take an outing over the weekend, forsaking the assembling together. Some DIVE for the bag of excuses when asked to help some way in the church. Then a few DIVE into a flurry of faultfinding every time the church takes on a new project. Yes, dear Brothers and Sisters, we will surely go under unless the Lord delivers us from Divers Diseases! "
