Forest Grove Baptist We had wonderful services Sunday at our church. We had several in attendance in Sunday School hour, and then we had 42 in morning worship. Bro. Matlock brought an excellent message in the morning worship about "What's so important about the Rapture?" and the evening service was about "Stephen, the Witnessing Deacon." We are missing several in our worship services, and hope everyone is recovering from their illnesses. We are still missing Billy Gray, and Sue Bannister. We are praying for your continued healing. Then in the evening services, we were pleased to welcome Danny and Darla Sangster and their beautiful children. We are also growing at the seams with our King's Kids program. We had 11 in there last week. We meet every Wednesday night at 6:30- 8:00. We have games, Bible stories, snacks, Bible memorization, and music. This is for children aged 4 years to 6th grade. Our Ladies Meetings are on hold for right now as Mrs. Sue is still recoverng from her gall bladder surgery. So for now, there are no Ladies Meetings on Thursday nights. We are looking into starting First Place Program at our church, which is a weight loss program. Instead of DIE-t-ing, this has the approach of LIVEIT. So no more DIE-t. This program works well as it makes you accountable to the "leader" and you have to exercise daily, and eat your calories assigned to you, and also there is a daily Bible study. You bring your homework each week and we discuss it, and we encourage one another in our weight loss. Anyone wanting more information on this, contact the church. We have eight signed up for this program so far. We are having a Garage Sale on the 22nd from 7am-4pm. Anyone wanting to donate stuff for the sale, or just to come buy some great items, come out and check us out. Money raised will go towards our King's Kids program. Also, our Fifth Sunday Singing will be held on September 30 at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining us, come out and bring your guitar or your music tracs and join us for an evening of fun, fellowship and singing. The featured artist for this evening will be Victory Road. Come out and hear them sing. |
