Trinity Valley Community College Continuing Education will offer Fundamentals of Cake Decorating Beginning Sept. 27. The class will be led by Chef Simon Webster. Students will learn the basic art of icing a cake, how to make flower decorations, cake writing, sugar molds, roses and seasonal cakes. The classes will be at the Athens campus beginning Sept. 27 and ending Oct. 18. Classes will meet from 6-8 P.M. and tuition is $120. 6th Annual Garage Sale September 27, 28, and 29 from 8 A.M. until 4 P.M. at Parkside Shores subdivision, which is located 9 miles south of Chandler. Look for signs. There will be lots of furniture, a bedroom set, livingroom furniture, occasional tables, 220 air conditioner, dishes, linens, pots and pans, large appliances, clothes ranging from infants to plus sizes, as well as items for men.

Edom United Methodist Church will be sponsoring a free health fair Saturday, September 29 at 9 A.M. until 4 P.M. There will be blood screenings, blood pressure checks, and a blood drive. There will also be speakers concerning Medicare and Medicaid, as well as Cure for Care Givers. Ross Breast Center will be offering reduced costs for mammograms. Forest Grove Baptist Church will hold their Fifth Sunday Singing on Sunday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited. Bring your guitar or your music trac and join us for an evening of fun, fellowship, and singing. The featured artist for this evening will be Victory Road. Come out and hear them sing. Faith Baptist Church will host a "Fifth Sunday Singing " on September 30, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. featuring the Digger Davis and Tombstone family band from Oakwood, Texas. Band Booster meeting will be held Monday, October 1at 7 P.M. in the High School Band Hall.

The Larue/Moore Station AARP #5345 will meet Tuesday, October 2 at the Moore Station Community Center. The Board of Directors meet at 6 P.M. and the regular meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M. All people over 50 are welcome to attend.

The Chandler 4-H Club will begin meeting at its new date and location October 2 (1st Tuesday of each month), 7 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church, FM 315, Chandler.

The Quilters Guild of East Texas will be meeting on Thursday and Friday , October 11 and 12, beginning at 9:30 A.M. for the social and 10:00 A.M. for the meeting. The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.
