WHY?
Wandering streets dry and desolate
Do we dare ask "why?"
He knows that we are wondering
So why should we deny?
Do we feel it's lack of Faith
To even pose the question?
Or do we feel that we are just
A simple imposition?
"We have not cause we ask not"
Is that just for mere possessions?
Or could it also qualify
For answers to our questions?
I believe that Jesus knows
The puzzles of our hearts,
And longs to give a glimpse to us
All the missing parts.
The puzzle always paints a scene,
On that we can be sure,
But until the last piece fits in place
The whole is but a blur.
So, go ahead and pray to God,
Don't be afraid to ask,
We may just get our answers,
The "why?" in every task.

ONE NATION UNDER GOD
I was, what others did not want to be. I went where others did not want to go and did what others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror. I have felt the sting of fear and I have enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment's love.
But most of all, I have lived times best forgotten. At least today I will be able to say that I was proud of what I am ...A VETERAN.

AT PLAY
Little children out at play,
Their voices sweet, happy and gay,
Skipping gaily on the green, green grass.
The hours they spend so slowly pass,
They have no thoughts to bother them,
No fears, no heartaches or hate that's grim.
Shining eyes and laughter free,
Oh, how I wish that they were me.
