Bearettes sweep Canton

      The Brownsboro Bearettes improved to 2-1 in District 14-3A play after sweeping the visiting Canton Eaglettes last Friday evening at home in Brownsboro. Brownsboro took control of the first set winning 25-15 as Chelsea Chimney served five points in a row completing the set with an ace.

JV Bears dominate Rains, win 40-16

      Each week they keep getting better and for the last two they look almost unstoppable. The Junior Varsity Bears led by freshman quarterback Ryan Owens and sophomore tailback Jon Jon Thompson are 4-1 on the season entering District 14-3A play next Thursday against Van.

Freshmen edge Wildcats 24-22

      Better late than never. The Freshman Bears scored 16 points in the final 8:22 of last Thursday's game in Emory to earn their second win of the season, 24-22. Rains opened the contest with a 16 play 58 yard touchdown drive consuming all but :24 of the first quarter.

      The Texas Xtreme semiprofessional football team will conduct tryouts for the upcoming 2008 season on Saturday, October 13 at Brownsboro High School practice field. BJHS hosts Rains Wildcats
      Both 8th grade teams defeated Rains last Thursday in Brownsboro. The A team won 20-18 as D'Zavion Moss, Dakota Strong and Keuntis Thompson all had touchdowns. Strong added a two-point conversion. The entire defense played well, stopping Rains on the three yard line twice.
