St. Boniface Catholic
by Sue Beams

On the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time members of St. Boniface were assured that the Lord Jesus wants us to be with Him in eternity.

In his homily, Fr. Jesse told the congregation that we are given the freedom to cling to Him or to turn away. God loves us equally and offers the same opportunities to each of us. God offers to us His heart and each day He gives us the opportunity to lay aside our self-desire and care for our brothers and sisters. We should delight in His ways, always. As we give our hearts to Jesus, our fervent desire is to be with Him forever!

Prior to the Liturgy of the Eucharist, Father Jesse blessed the newly purchased Sacred cups and paten to be used for the Precious Body and Blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. These beautiful vessels will further express in faith and love the desire to improve the Celebration of the Eucharist.

Immediately following Mass, there was a baptism. Welcome, little Gabrielle, to the St. Boniface family. We pray that the Lord will bless and keep you in his tender care. Refreshments were served in the community room.

St. Boniface members, Frank and Priscilla Doherty were honored recently as Family of the Month by the Knights of Columbus. The Grand Knight bestows the honor on the couple that most exemplifies family. Frank and Priscilla are valued members of our parish and the community as well. Congratulations!

The Altar Society will meet on Monday, October 8th, at 6:30 pm in the community room. This month's facilitator will be Kay Chavez. All ladies of the parish are encouraged to join us!

There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help with the striping of the parking lot. This project has been approved and will need to be completed as soon as possible for insurance reasons. For more information on how you can help with this project, please call the church.

The new e-mail address for St. Boniface is: stboniface3234@embarq.com

Congratulations and best wishes to all who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

We ask for the comfort of the Lord for those who are sick and suffering. Remember, too, the faithful departed. We ask for continued and unceasing prayers for all the men and women in the military who are sacrificing so much for all the freedoms we enjoy.

Have a blessed week.
