Another blowout
JV Bears dominate Rains, win 40-16

Chad Wilson Photo Owens has helped lead the Bears to a 4-1 record.
Each week they keep getting better and for the last two they look almost unstoppable.

The Junior Varsity Bears led by freshman quarterback Ryan Owens and sophomore tailback Jon Jon Thompson are 4-1 on the season entering District 14-3A play next Thursday against Van.

Last Thursday the Bears defeated Rains in Emory by the score of 40-16.

Brownsboro scored on their first five possessions in a row before showing mercy to the Wildcats.

Owens completed his first eight passes of the game and connected with 7 different receivers in the contest. Overall he passed for 87 yards on 12 of 15 pass attempts and two scores. He also rushed for 20 yards on eight carries and scored one touchdown.

Thompson led the Bears in rushing once again as he rushed for 121 yards on eight carries. He scored two touchdowns on runs of 52 and 4 yards.

Also scoring touchdowns for the Bears were Adam Dingler and Austin Adair on passes from Owens. Adair's touchdown was for 17 yards marking Owens longest pass of the day.

Overall the Bears totaled 328 yards of offense, 241 rushing and 87 passing.

Defensively the Bears held Rains to 170 total yards and forced 3 turnovers.

Thompson recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass for the Bears. Peyton Williams forced a Wildcat fumble that was recovered by Shade Bruffett.

Brownsboro was 5-5 on two-point conversion attempts. Thompson converted three while Garrett Bragg converted two.

The Bears will play in Van on Thursday, October 11.
