Subvarsity volleyball results

It has been a little rough to start District 14-3A volleyball play for the Freshman and Junior Varsity Bearettes.

The Freshman team won their first district contest of the season against Canton last Friday by the scores of 25-18 and 25-11. In set one Malea Sims accounted for 8 service points in a row while in set two Ashton Duke had 6 service points in a row.

Overall the Freshman are 1- 2 in District play as they lost their first two district contests. Opening district play the freshman lost 25-18, 25- 18 to Bullard before losing 25-12 and 25-15 to Van.

On the Junior Varsity level the Bearettes have forced a third game in every district match-up.

Against Canton the JV lost the first set 25-19, won the second 25-21 before falling in the third 25-19. Carley Smith had an ace against Canton.

In Van the JV won the first set 25-20 before losing the final two 25-20, 25-20.

To open district play the Bearettes lost to Bullard in the first set 25-21, won the second set 25-20 and lost the final set 25-16.

Both subvarsity teams are scheduled to play against Athens this Friday in Brownsboro. Game time is scheduled for 4:00pm.
