What's Happening The 2007/2008 Brownsboro Intermediate School PTO Officers are President Coleen Compton, Vice President Tonya Morrison,Secretary Leslie Blevins, Treasurer Sandra Adair, and Historian Jeff Smiley. The PTO raises money to purchase every student at BIS a school t-shirt. They also sponsor the Inspire Mentoring Program, help with TAKS incentives, Red Ribbon Week, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Anyone interested in membership call the BIS office. The Quilters Guild of East Texas will meet on Thursday and Friday , October 11 and 12, beginning at 9:30 A.M. for the social and 10:00 A.M. for the meeting. There will also be an evening meeting on Thursday October 11 at 7:00 P.M. The meetings will take place at Camp Tyler, 15143 Camp Tyler Rd, Tyler, TX. The Bella Russian Choir will perform at First Baptist Church in Chandler on Thursday, October 11 at 6:30 P.M. This is a 32 member choir and represents a group of Christian Church Planters in the Soviet Union. Come, enjoy the music and hear their testimonies of God at work in the Soviet Union. The Brownsboro Masonic Lodge #1051 will host their Annual Pancake Breakfast, Saturday Oct. 13 from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the lodge on Hwy 31 in Brownsboro. The Brownsboro Athletic Booster Club will meet on Monday, October 15 at 7 P.M. in the High School cafeteria. The Henderson County 4- H Clover Kids will have a meeting on Sunday, October 14 in the kitchen of the Extension Office at 2 P.M. The subject will be the Food Show and other future events. The Third Annual Fall Family Fun Night will be on Saturday, October 20 from 4-7 P.M.,outside on the church grounds at the First United Methodist Church located on Hwy 31 in Murchison. Something is planned for all ages. Activities are a jump house, face painting, food, hayrides, and maybe pony rides. Special entertainment will be furnished by the Marvin Jones County Gospel Band and a clown group, "Simply His Clowns," who will do face painting and make animal balloons. Food will be available and door prizes will be given. Admittance is canned foods or cash donation to the Henderson County Food Pantry. Movie Night returns on October 20 at Lake Palestine United Methodist Church. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie will be starting at 7:00. This month's movie is going to be the hot new release, "Evan Almighty." The menu for this month will be hot dogs, chili dogs, frito pie, and popcorn. As always admission is free. First Baptist Church of Ben Wheeler will be hosting their "Fishers of Men Catfish Fry", for adult and high school age men in this area on October 20 at 6:00 P.M. There will be no charge, but a love offering will be taken. The special speaker will be Nathan Lorick. They will also be hosting a Fall Festival on October 31 from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. There will be games, food, prizes, and candy for all ages. No scary or spooky costumes please. Brownsboro Intermediate School will be hosting a Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 23 from 6-8:30 P.M. at their campus. Come join in the fun. The Corsicana Sunset Lions Navarro College LEO Club will be hosting the Jim Jones Memorial Deer Hunters' BBQ.
