A POEM FOR GRANDMOTHER Oh Morning Glory, so steadfast and true,

Plant these small seeds in memory, I ask of you.

Let us all live with love, and goodness shine through,

Stand tall and grow as God intended for us to do.

Dad and I were always so diligent, always so true, Love and acceptance we've passed on to you. Each one of you like a flower in our hearts, Although we're both gone, never will we part.

Farming brought bounty, much of it canned;

Fresh sausage, sweet pickles and don't forget the jams!

To make fresh syrup took hours to stand, Each product, of our hard-working hands.

Never a birthday forgotten, with a card in hand, A wall of family photos, biggest in the land. Hundreds of slippers for foot, quilts and afghans, Each made with love by my two hands.

Remember the front porch on sunny afternoons Where so many would gather, barely no room. What about my plates of places we've been? And the orange dish, with nuts and candy within?

While you still sleep aloft on your beds I am baking so early, pies, cookies and breads.

As we sit at our table, Dad at the head,

Remember my passion and acceptance to get you all fed.

Oh Morning Glory, so steadfast and true Reach for the sky, how I loved you,

Stems outreaching with a soft pastel hue,

Because my love for flowers, and yes, they were blue.

Remember me always, in all that you do.

My love was genuine, this I have proved.

These are some memories that we've passed on to you.

Remember me, the Morning Glory, steadfast and true.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the encouragement and hope,

You so generously give us through Your angels on earth,

Who share Your unconditional love.

We love You, Father, and our hope is in Your unconditional love.

Please enable us as Your children to be willing vessels,

Willing to share Your unconditional love, With the lost, lonely and hurting soul. This is our sincere prayer in Jesus name, We pray, Your will be done.

Amen (Writer unknown)
THAT'S THE WAY IT IS
One morning at the breakfast table
My wife looked at me and asked,
"How long will it be before you admit
That I am right and you are wrong?"
I smiled and looked her in the eye,
But nothing did I reply.
Turning I looked out of the window,
Not wanting to admit
I knew all along;
It wasn't long before she asked again.
I knew I had better give her a reply.
So I looked at her and with a smile,
Said, "Honey, you are right."
. . . . I could not lie.
