Cook of the Week
Hite's grandmother, Clessie Warren, lives here under the care provided by Sue and Sue's parents, Leroy and Reba Gullett. But this is only three generations of Sue's family! David and Sue Hite have two sons, Jon and Michael Parker. Michael lives in Brownsboro, and between Jon and Michael's families, Sue said, they have given her three grandchildren; two more generations. Tyler RAM Sales and Services is where Sue works, the company performs commercial roof and floor coating. "Anyone with commercial roofing or floor coating needs, call us for a quote," Hite said. Sue also said she enjoys boating with David, or just relaxing at their resort at the Villages with the kids. Also an animal lover, a variety of animal life can be found at Sue's place. Dogs, cats, horses, miniature horses and longhorns, Sue said, are critters she loves spending time with. "I'd like to share a personal love," Sue said. "There are forgotten elderly people around us who still need our love, hugs, or just a kind word. The Chandler Nursing Home, Sue added, is the place to go for anyone who needs to be uplifted.
Sue decided to share a cookie recipe she thought is also uplifting, the treat being low in fat and calories, yet still flavorful. Cook the cookies at 350 Degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
But there was one more recipe Sue wanted to give out. First, core, slice and peel the apples, then roll one apple slice at a time into each crescent roll, then place the rolls in a spraycoated pan. Melt the butter and mix in with the sugar. Crumble the mixture over the dumplings and pour mountain dew around the dumplings. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and bake the snack at 350 Degrees for 34-40 minutes. |
