St. Boniface Catholic
by Sue Beams

On the Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time members of St. Boniface were asked to reflect on their view of God. In his homily, Fr. Jesse inquired of us how we thought of God ... is he unjust? un-caring? Don't misunderstand how it works, this justice of God. The truth stands that He is a loving and a just God and will give us all we need.

In the Holy Gospel, we hear of the unjust judge, not caring for another human being. Our God is just. He cares for all human beings. He hears our petitions. When an immediate answer is not received, trust in the Lord is taught in the waiting. We do not know His Divine purpose. Jesus fully turned His life over to God. He embraced God's will. We are called to do the same. Let us pray persistently, knowing that God Loves Us! When we don't get an immediate answer or one that we want, we should not despair or blame God, but follow Jesus' example by giving ourselves totally to God. We can trust Him always ... His love prevails!

The Mass on Sunday was offered for Carlos Mendoza on the occasion of his recent birthday. Fr. Jesse bestowed a special blessing on Carlos and his family. There are many such blessings available and are yours for the asking! Talk to Fr. Jesse to learn more.

Durng the Mass, several endorsements were awarded to teachers in the Formation of Faith. In order to teach our youth you must be endorsed by the Diocese. Helping young people to grow in their faith has subsequently helped these fine men and women to grow in their own faith.

Congratulations to John Bongiovanni (post-Confirmation), Maureen Mashburn (1st year Confirmation), Stephanie Adams (1st year First Communion). Also receiving endorsements were Joe and Laurie Guerra who substitute in various classrooms when the need arises. Thank you all for your dedication to the young people of St. Boniface.

Our beloved matriarch, Condradita Sanchez was honored at the convention she attended last week. She is so humble and you must coax all the information from her! We are proud of you, Condradita, and blessed by your presence in our parish.

A reminder to those wishing to help with the baking (for Sunday morning refreshments) and cleaning of the church: please sign the update sheet for these very important jobs! Our goal is to have enough people to work on a six-week rotation.

Mass Intentions for All Souls day are being taken. Special envelopes are at the back of the church and can be picked up anytime. A special Mass will be offered. Please check next week's bulletin for details.

In the next few weeks there will be a lot of activity at St. Boniface with the planning and preparations for the upcoming holidays and Holy Days. Please check your bulletins for this information and more!

Congratulations and best wishes to those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. We ask for God's mercy on those who are sick and suffering. We pray for the faithful departed; may they find eternal peace. We continue to ask our Heavenly Father for the protection of our men and women in the armed services as they fight to protect and defend us. Have a blessed week.
