Halloween at the Hatchery tonight Athens - The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center will host the annual Halloween event at the Hatchery the evening of Thursday, October 25. Local businesses and organizations will hand out free candy, and the Center will be decorated throughout with a Halloween theme. The event runs from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. and is expected to attract about 3,000 people. Halloween at the Hatchery is TFFC's way of giving East Texas families a safe place to go trick-or-treating while raising money for local causes. Proceeds from the $1 general admission fee will go to the Rainbow Room of Henderson County and the Henderson County Humane Society. The Anglers Pavilion will be the site of a special small children area featuring prize and game booths. Decorations for the event are made possible by sponsor donations. Sponsors for Halloween at the Hatchery as of press time included Attorney's Title Company; Citizens State Bank; Dallas Manufacturing Company, Inc.; East Texas Agency; Gould Properties; Red Hat Rentals; Velvin & Weeks Engineers; Mark Roberts DDS; Walker Plumbing Supply Company; and Wal-Mart Supercenter-Athens. Parking will be available in the main TFFC parking lot and in the overflow parking area on Peninsula Point Road. Parents with children in strollers are requested to use the main parking lot.
