Chandler's "Halloween in the Park" has been canceled due to lack of business. Various Brownsboro businesses will be passing out candy after dark at their respective businesses.

"Full Wide Fall Festival", Thursday, October 25 from 5:30-8 PM at Chandler Elementary. Activities scheduled include a country store, silent auction, Bingo, cake walk, and various booths. There will be food and drinks for sale. For more information call the Chandler Elementary at 903-849-3400.

The National FFA Convention will be October 25-28 in Louisville, KY.

The Lions Pancake Supper will be on October 25, from 4-7 PM, at the Chandler Community Center. Enjoy all the pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages you can eat : individual tickets are $5, and a family ticket is $15. Purchase tickets in advance from any Lion or at the door.

Brownsboro Boys' Little Dribblers is now taking applications for the 2007-2008 season until October 26, 2007. Applications are available at both the elementary and intermediate schools in Brownsboro and Chandler and at the Murchison school. THIS YEAR WE WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE APPLICATIONS. Cedarview Housing Community will host their Fall Festival on Saturday, October 27 from 2-4 PM. There will be a food cook-off contest with categories for chili, beans, desserts and miscellaneous. Relay for Life will have its initial kick-off October 29 at 5:30 PM on the parking lot at T.V.C.C. in Athens. Hot dogs and drinks will be served. Candy Night!!!! Tuesday, October 30th from 7 to 9 PM at the Refuel Teen Center. Get a jump start on the candy for Halloween at the Teen Center. Dress up in your costume and hang out at the teen center.

"Family Fun Night", will be October 31 from 6-8:30 PM at First Assembly of God, 804 N Broad St., Chandler. There will be games for all ages, inflatables, moon walks, train rides, a black light cake walk, lots of candy, and much more! It's going to be a blast! Your family will not want to miss out. Chandler First United Methodist Church will be hosting a Fall Festival on Wednesday, October 31st, from 6-8 PM. The fun-filled festival will include bounce houses, a cake walk, food, and prizes. There will also be decorated pumpkins on display that the kids decorated during Cross Training on Wednesday night. You can vote for your favorite by bringing some canned goods. Canned goods will go to God's Open Hands, and the pumpkin with the most cans will be declared the winner. Come join the fun!

The Corsicana Sunset Lions Navarro College LEO Club will be hosting the Jim Jones Memorial Deer Hunters' BBQ. The event will be taking place on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Corsicana High School Commons, which is located at 3701 West HWY 22. There will be a live auction and BBQ benefiting Navarro County. In addition, they will be raffling off a Howa Model 1500 Deer Rifle .270 cal. Win with Var. 3-9x42 scope. Bluegrass Gospel Weekend, Saturday, November 10 at the Texas Gospel Music Hall, located at 6513 HWY 19 S, Athens. The concert starts at 6 P.M., but the doors open at 5. The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens.
