Anthony C. Fletes
Air Force Airman
Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Anthony C. Fletes has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Fletes is the son of Mary Fletes of Chandler.
The airman graduated in 2002 from Robert E. Lee High School, Tyler, and received an associate degree in 2007 from Tyler Junior College.

Army PV2
PV2 Amanda Pipes of Edom, has recently graduated from Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In attendance were her parents, Charles and Jeannie Pipes, brothers Matt, David and Gracen Pipes, and sister Candice Pipes, all of Edom; grandparents Carlos and Johnnie Pipes of Fruitvale and David and Barbara Crow of Edom.

mechanics at Fort Eustis, Virginia.
