A fund has been established for Chance Moody at the First State Bank of Brownsboro. Moody was involved in a construction accident while at work and has no medical insurance. For more information contact Janice Chambers, 903-852- 7158.

Country Music at Poynor Civic Center- First Thursday, Free Admission, Thursday, November 1. Frankston Health Care Center will prepare chicken and dumplings, English pea salad, and corn bread. The meal will be served from 6-7:30 PM. Donations for the food will benefit the residents of Frankston Healthcare Center. Anyone who wishes may bring a dessert. Do You Feel Lucky? Well, do you Cowboys fans? Here is your chance to win a bit of Dallas Cowboys history! Win a football autographed by Randy White. Raffle tickets may be purchased at any Brownsboro Jr. High or High School home football game as well as at Brownsboro Elementary. Individual tickets cost $1 or you can buy 6 for $5. The drawing will be held Nov. 2, 2007 at halftime. Proceeds will benefit the 2007- 2008 Senior Lock-In.

Brownsboro Girls Little Dribblers will be having their Annual Organizational Meeting, Sunday, November 4 at 2 PM in the Old Intermediate Gym. An Inconvenient Truth, the Academy Award winning documentary, will be shown in Athens on Monday, November 5, at the Lakeview Lodge at 6:30 PM. The film, by Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, is being presented by the East Texas Environmental Concerns Organization free to the public. The Lakeview Lodge is at 1801 Flat Creek Road (FM 2495) next to Argon Medical.

Larue and Moore Station A.A.R.P. #5345 will meet Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Antioch Baptist Church cafeteria. The Board of Directors meeting will be at 6 PM followed by the regular meeting at 6:30. Anyone 50 and over is welcome to attend.

Attention Brownsboro Young Farmers and all interested parties: The Sandyland District Leadership Development Events will take place at TVCC on November 6 at 11 AM. This is open to any student.The County Broiler Entries are due for the Henderson County Livestock Show on November 12. On November 17 at 9AM, the Area VIII Leadership Development Events will be taking place in Hillsboro. On November 27, Brownsboro will be hosting the Hog Validations for Major Shows from 4-7 PM.

The Corsicana Sunset Lions Navarro College LEO Club will be hosting the Jim Jones Memorial Deer Hunters' BBQ. The event will be taking place on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Corsicana High School Commons, which is located at 3701 West HWY 22. There will be a live auction and BBQ ben efiting Navarro County. In addition, they will be raffling off a Howa Model 1500 Deer Rifle .270 cal. Win with Var. 3-9x42 scope. The drawing will take place at 8 P.M. and you need not be present to win. Meal tickets, which include one raffle ticket, are $5.00 and additional raffle tickets are $1.00.

The Quilters Guild of East Texas will host their monthly meeting Thursday, November 8 at 9:30 AM for the social and 10 AM for the meeting, at Pollard United Methodist Church, 3030 New Copeland Rd, Tyler. Bluegrass Gospel Weekend, Saturday, November 10 at the Texas Gospel Music Hall, located at 6513 HWY 19 S, Athens. The concert starts at 6 P.M., but the doors open at 5. Guest entertainers will be The Hogwallow Boys & The Hubbards. Reserved seat tickets are $15, General Admission Advance is $12, and tickets at the door will be $15. Community-wide Veteran's Day Tribute on November 11 at the First Baptist Church in Ben Wheeler. Special guest speaker, State Representative Dan Flynn. Bring a covered dish for fellowship dinner starting at 5 PM. The ceremony program will start at 6 PM. Veterans, bring your momento to display at the memorial table. All veterans in this area are invited to attend.

The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. A covered dish meal is served at 6:30pm with the meeting to follow. All members and prospective members are urged to attend.
