Bearettes conclude 2007 volleyball season in Athens

Playing in a very tough District 14-AAA the Varsity Bearettes wrapped up the 2007 season last Tuesday night with a loss to Athens.

The Bearettes finished the season in fourth place in district with a 4-6 record. Van topped the district standings with a 9-1 record followed by Bullard (8-2) and Athens (7-3).

In Athens last Tuesday the Lady Hornets swept the Bearettes 25-13, 25-8, 25-12. The Bearettes finished the season with an overall record of 15-16.

Canton finished the season winless in district while Chapel Hill's only two wins in district play came against Canton. Brownsboro swept the season series with Canton and Chapel Hill.

Both Brownsboro sub-varsity teams also lost to Athens. The JV lost 25-20 and 25-18 while the freshmen lost 26-24, 25-16.

As of press time Tuesday final stats were not available for the season nor were the stats from the Athens game.
