Ms. Sandra Mitcham, Certified Site Coordinator for Christian Women's Job Corp of Tyler, brought an inspiring and informative program for the members of Kappa Pi Chapter last Thursday afternoon.
Ms. Mitcham shared how the CWJC training program is life changing -- preparing women to become independent with a better job, and choices for their future and their life.
She said, "Not only does CWJC provide computer skills, job training, resume writing and interview skills, but they also learn life skills and parenting skills, and every student has a mentor."
Over 400 women have completed the program in Tyler since 1998. She shared numerous success stories and extended an invitation to at- tend the next Celebration Ceremony on November 13 when the women tell friends and family what they have learned and share their goals and dreams.
Kappa Pi members brought supplies for the Christian Women's Job Corp as our November project. A scavenger hunt in our purses provided funds for the new state headquarters in Dallas.
Naomi Bledsoe introduced the speaker and Dorothy Jones brought the inspirational thought, "Your Happiness List." Lou Brown, President, presided over the business meeting, sharing personal notes about our homebound members and those who were ill. Several community service projects were also discussed.
The meeting was held in the home of Lindy Goode of Chandler on Thursday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. Kappa Pi's next gathering will be a Christmas luncheon and will include a Silent Auction.
