All are invited to the Community Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance. Sunday, November 18 at 6 PM hosted by Chandler First Baptist Church. Dr. Russ Munch of First United Methodist is preaching. Special music by Amanda Parker, Allan Cox and a Men's Quartet.

Attention Brownsboro Young Farmers and all interested parties: On November 17 at 9AM, the Area VIII Leadership Development Events will be taking place in Hillsboro. On November 27, Brownsboro will be hosting the Hog Validations for Major Shows from 4-7 PM.

Opelika Missionary Baptist Church will host their Fall Revival November 11-16. Services times will be Sunday, 11- 6 and Monday- Friday starting at 7PM. The evangelist will be Brother Bill Slayton and the special music will be provided by The Lifeway Trio of Athens. Everyone is welcome!

Brownsboro U.M.C. Donation Lunch immediately following church on Sunday, November 18. Everyone invited. Chicken and regular spaghetti, salad, bread, and desserts. Donations will go towards the youth fundraiser.

Parent University will host a meeting on Tuesday, November 27 at BIS Cafeteria at 6 PM. The topic is, "Self esteem for tweens" and "Safe Schools". Childcare and snacks will be provided.

Lake Palestine United Methodist Church has collected the best recipes from group members, family, and friends and compiled them into an attractive, keepsake cookbook. They will begin selling them on November 12. They may be purchased from any church member, or at the church. All proceeds will go to the Angel Food Trailer Fund. The cookbook contains 357 recpes. Forest Grove Ladies Auxiliary Bake Sale will be Novemeber 17 from 8 AM-? at Forest Grove Community Center which is located 8 miles south of Chandler on FM 315. There will be pies, cakes, candy, and cookies.

The Annual Christmas Tour of Homes and Parade of Trees will be Sunday, December 2 from 2-5 PM and Monday, 6-9 PM. Four homes will be featured, and organizations are invited to decorate a tree for the Parade of Trees. All proceeds from the trees (canned goods used for voting) will be donated to God's Open Hands. Groups interested in participating in the Parade should call 903-360-1978. The parade of Trees will be located at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler and will include a Christmas Market with unique holiday gifts. There will also be a live nativity at the the church each night. Women's Unity Fellowship sponsors both the Tour of Homes and Parade of Trees.

The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens.
