Local dance team takes top honors

The Junior Dazzlers, Dazzlers, and Dazzlers Elite of 5-6-7-8 Dance Studio in Chandler, took top honors at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders dance competition.

The Junior Dazzlers brought home 2nd place in the Novelty division.

The Dazzlers came home with 1st place in the Prop division.

And the Dazzlers Elite took 2nd place in the Pom division.

All three teams scored a 90 or above, which made them qualify to perform at the half-time game on December 16, 2007, when the Dallas Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dallas beat the Eagles two weeks ago on the road. The game that the girls will be a part of will be a big game for the NFLand NFC. It will be a day no one forgets.

"This was unreal," said Wendy Smith, director of the teams. "This is the first time in 10 years I have taken all three teams back. We are now preparing to learn the routine for the half-time."

The Junior Dazzlers are: Chloe Bertrand, Emma McCoy, Jessica Satterfield, Morgan Lynch, and Caitlin Brown.

The Dazzler members are: Lani Compton, Maleri McHam, Alyssa Loosier, Gabby Young, Jenny Burch, Camryn Johnston, Brooke Spencer, Kaylee VanVoast.

The Dazzlers Elite are: Caitlin McCarter, Desarae Rowan, Kailey Morrison, Taylor Johnston, Kaylee Shaw, Sierra Fowler, and Brittany Johnson.

The parents of these competitors and their local communities should be very proud of their accomplishments, and I applaud the directors, says Kelli Finglas, director of the Dallas Cow- boys Cheerleaders.
