      Since losing their first game of the 07-08 basketball season to a Class 4A school the Junior Varsity Bearettes have been on a very dominating streak of wins. Winners of five straight the Bearettes captured the Eustace Tournament Championship Saturday in Eustace.

      Junior Varsity Bears Outscored 17-10 in the fourth period of play the Junior Varsity Bears record dropped to 1-1 as they fell to Gladewater 54-33 on Friday. Brownsboro led 43-37 heading into the final period of play before the Gladewater charge.

Bears remain perfect after two

      Two games into the 2007-08 basketball season the varsity Brownsboro Bears are perfect. Brownsboro opened the season last Tuesday with a 79- 36 win over the Kemp Yellow Jackets in Kemp. In Kemp the Bears rolled to an early dominating lead, leading 31-9 at the half.

Texas State Champ Zay Ridgle earns a spot in the annual Bassmaster CastingKids National Finals

      The State of Texas was represented by two Brownsboro ISD students on November 10 at the 2007 Bassmaster CastingKids Semifinal competition in Kissimmee, FL. Brothers Issac and Zay Ridgle earned the right to participate in the annual event after claiming the state title earlier in the year.

Bearettes defeat Eustace by fifty, fall to Kerens by one on Friday

      What an interesting week in Brownsboro Bearette basketball. Last Tuesday the Bearettes rolled to a 73-23 win over Eustace. On Friday they fell to Kerens 55-54. At home against Eustace the Bearettes outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every period including a 24-6 start in the first period.
