MISD plans blood drive

The Murchison ISD will hold a blood drive in the school cafeteria on December 1, from 12:00-5:00 p.m. to benefit a 4th grade student, Jake Hardin, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

All of the blood that Jake cannot use will benefit other children receiving care at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

T-shirts will be sold during the drive, which will benefit the Hardin family.

The lettering on the front of the shirt says "Shooting for Jake" and the back says "Hardin 41." The shirts are green with gold letters and the cost is $8.00 per shirt.

Also the school will be collecting items for the prize closet at Children's Medical Center during this blood drive. All of the children who receive chemotherapy get to pick a prize from this big closet after each treatment.

An example of items are holiday socks, gloves, puzzles, games, hot wheels, dolls, stuffed animals, etc. Many of these items can be purchased at the Dollar Store.
