Since losing their first game of the 07-08 basketball season to a Class 4A school the Junior Varsity Bearettes have been on a very dominating streak of wins.

Winners of five straight the Bearettes captured the Eustace Tournament Championship Saturday in Eustace.

Prior to the tournament the Bearettes evened their season record to 1-1 as the blew-out Eustace 48-13 at home in Brownsboro last Tuesday.

Megan Hain led the girls in scoring with 14 points. Hillary Shaffer also scored in double figures with 12 points.

Chelsea Chambers nailed a three pointer for the Bearettes in the win.

Playing Kemp to open the Eustace Tournament the Bearettes showed no mercy as the won 56-7.

Ten players scored in the win for Brownsboro as Nicole Pickett led the team in scoring with 12 points. Chambers hit a 3-pointer as part of her eight points in the game.

In the second game of the tournament the Bearettes defeated Malakoff 44-6. Chamber hit another three pointer while Shaffer and Hain led the team in scoring with 10 points.

The games got closer as the Bearettes got closer to the title.

Brownsboro defeated Scurry Rosser 31-26 in game three as Shaffer and Pickett led the team in scoring with seven points each.

Facing Westwood in the tournament championship the Bearettes defeated the Lady Panthers 34-23.

Chelsea Chambers nailed two 3-pointers as part of her team high 10 points in the win.

With a record of 5-1 on the season the Bearettes will play in Henderson on November 24, a Tuesday night game.
