Bearettes defeat Eustace by fifty, fall to Kerens by one on Friday

What an interesting week in Brownsboro Bearette basketball. Last Tuesday the Bearettes rolled to a 73-23 win over Eustace. On Friday they fell to Kerens 55-54.

At home against Eustace the Bearettes outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every period including a 24-6 start in the first period.

Brownsboro burst into the game with a 16-2 lead midway through the first period. The Bearettes led 40-14 at the half.

As the third period was about to expire Monica Redfearn threw up a shot from half court. The shot sailed into the net to increase the Bearettes lead to 60-19 and ignite the home crowd.

Redfearn totaled nine points in the win. Bianca Mosley led the Bearettes in scoring with 15 points. She scored in every period of play.

Chelsea Chimney also scored in double figures for the Bearettes with 10 points.

Chimney led the Bearettes in scoring with 18 points in their 55-54 loss to Kerens on Friday night in Kerens.

Brownsboro led after the first period 13-11 and at the half 33-30 but were unable to put Kerens away. Kerens outscored the Bearettes 24-21 over the final two periods of play to win the game.

Redfearn (10) and Mosley (15) both scored in double figures for the Bearettes. Redfearn connected on the Bearettes only 3-pointer of the game.

Brownsboro (1-2) will play in Henderson on Tuesday, November 27. Their next home game is Tuesday, December 4.
