      Junior Varsity Bearettes After winning the Eustace Tournament the JV Bearettes traveled to Emory to play the Rains Cats and lost their second game of the season 47-46. Scoring in every period Hillary Shaffer led the team in points with 15. Megan Hain scored 10 points in the one point lose.

Bears lose two at Burger King Classic
      Game one of the 10th Annual Burger King Classic was one the Bears would like to forget as they fell to the Frankston Indians 54-34 at UT Tyler. Frankston improved to 3-0 on the season with the win while the Bears dropped to 2-1 in non-district action.

Epperson earns District 14-3A defensive player of the year award
      District 14-3A coaches released the All-District team after both Canton and Chapel Hill were knocked out of the playoffs last Friday. Last season's District MVP Ryan Epperson was named the 2007 defensive player of the year in his final season with the Brownsboro Bears.

Great East Texas Shootout tournament bracket released
      Brownsboro will see a brief increase in population between Thursday, December 6 and Saturday, December 8 as the Great East Texas Shootout is underway. The annual basketball tournament will include 17 boys basketball teams and 24 girls basketball teams.

Rains, Ennis no match for Bearettes

      With games on Monday and Tuesday before the Thanksgiving holiday break the Varsity Bearettes made sure they had something to be thankful for on the holiday. Last Monday the Bearettes traveled to Emory to face the Rains Wildcats in non-district basketball action.
