Chandler Super Food offers bill pay system
By Nathan Straus News Reporter

Super Food #7 in Chandler on Highway 31 is now offering the option to pay a variety of bills inside the building. Farooq Ahmad, store owner, said he has offered this service since the first of November.

"No other gas station in Chandler takes these bills," Ahmad said.

Bills can be paid from 8 am to 8 pm.

Ahmad said the service can benefit those who don't have a home internet connection or a credit or debit card. Without a credit or debit card paying bills over the phone becomes more difficult.

"People used to go to Tyler or Athens to pay their bills," Ahmad said. "This will save gas for them."

The bill payments are divided into two sections; some bills are paid within 24 hours while others take two or three business days to go through. The payments are identified by which company the payment goes to.

The 24-hour payments: FE mWallet, TXU Energy, Atmos Energy, Reliant Energy, Stream Energy, Verizon, Centerpoint Energy, Alliance Power Company, Aqua Source.

The slower payments: Sprint Local, First Choice.

Some of the payments may only be paid with cash. In addition, the provider can't be disconnected from Super Food #7. The recipient would have to reach the company to disconnect service. These companies are: SBC, Cingular, Sprint PCS, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Entenergy, Direct TV, Dish Network, Sprint Long Distance, AT&T Long Distance.

Ahmad said in the time since this service has been implemented many people have used it to pay bills.

"A lot of people have been utilizing this service," Ahmad said.

All payments made at the Super Food will be electronically deducted from the payer's bank account. The service is part of Fidelity XpressPay.

The Food Fast in Brownsboro also utilizes this service, along with identical features.
