K.C. Bee Sezzzzz...
Help Us Keep Chandler Beautiful

WOW........Kacey here..... I am still "buzzin" from last Saturday after flying over Winchester Park ! The Administration office staff of the City of Chandler, Shirley Parmer, Tracy McNatt, Patty Clayton and Beatrice Ibarra as well as their boss City Administrator, Jim Moffit hosted the first "Holiday in the Park".

Individuals and groups of gospel singers exhibited their talents to a crowd of over 300 and entertained into the evening. Bobby Proctor was the Master of Ceremonies. As the singing began, light showers stopped. What a baritone that Louie Moe has, it really shook the stinger.

A concession stand offered food and drinks including Stanley McCurley's famous chili with the help of Rod Starnes. Stanley, this really was the best batch yet. All foods were donated and were served up by volunteers behind the counter. Judge Sue Starnes was slinging Wassail (for all you bees, that is a good warm drink). Debbie Boyd and her staff from "Forget-Me-Not" furnished dessert and decorated the area. All proceeds from the food booth were graciously donated to Keep Chandler Beautiful and will be used on projects to come in the Chandler area.

Shirley Parmer has had this idea for a gospel singa long for a long time. I feel she was motivated by the love of her sister, Jana Freeman who was the organizer of Keep Big Lake Beautiful and a big help and inspiration to KCB as we were growing. Keep Chandler Beautiful would like to dedicate this first "Holiday in the Park" to the memory of Jana Freeman, Volunteer Emeritus.

Thank you again, to each and every one of the businesses, donors, and especially the volunteers for a wonderful "Holiday in the Park".

A very proud BEE, Kacey
