Chandler Lions Den

The Lions ask that you remember those military personnel who are not at home, and especially those recovering from wounds at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. We hope to show them how much we in East Texas appreciate their sacrifices by asking you to send many get-well wishes and holiday greetings to the following address:

A Recovering American Soldier C/O Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Ave, NW

Washington, DC 20307-5001

All cards and letters will be distributed to the men and women by hospital staff and volunteers, so send as many as you wish.

In preparation for the Christmas holidays, we remind you that students in the Brownsboro ISD, including the Chandler Elementary and Intermediate Schools, will be collecting non-perishable food donations at the schools. The Lions members will collect the contributions from the schools and churches, and with the assistance of volunteers at God's Open Hands and the management at Brookshires Grocery Store, food baskets will be prepared and distributed across our area during December.

If you know of anyone with serious needs such as a wheelchair ramp, transportation for medical treatment, or other special assistance, please contact a Lion by calling 903-849-6355. If you are interested in participating in our organization, please call and volunteer your services.

No regular December meetings are scheduled. The regular meeting schedule will resume in January:

1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m. Chandler Community Center.
