Junior Varsity Bearettes

After winning the Eustace Tournament the JV Bearettes traveled to Emory to play the Rains Cats and lost their second game of the season 47-46.

Scoring in every period Hillary Shaffer led the team in points with 15. Megan Hain scored 10 points in the one point lose.

On Tuesday the Bearettes showed no hangover from the loss as they defeated Ennis by ten, 46-36.

Montoya Hightower led the Bearettes in scoring with 19 points including a 10 point second period performance. Shaffer added 14 points.

With the win the JV improves to 6-2 on the season. They will play at home against Rains on Tuesday,
December 4 at 5:30pm.

Freshman Bearettes

Winning 38-14 over Ennis last Tuesday in Brownsboro the Freshman Bearettes move to 3-2 on the season.

Tiffany Hurd led the girls in scoring with 14 points while Chelsea Holcomb added 12 against Ennis.

Last Monday the Bearettes fell in a close contest to Rains 36-32 despite a fourth period comeback attempt.

Leading scorer against Rains was Hurd with 13 points.

Hurd scored 17 points and Carley Smith scored 14 as the Bearettes edged Kerens 38-36 on Friday, November 16.

Junior High Bearettes

Junior High basketball is in full swing and the Bearettes are simply unstoppable at this point in the season.

In 8th grade action the "A" team has dominated their opponents as if they were playing against kindergartners. In two games they have outscored their opponents 91-6.

LaQuesha Cooper led the girls in scoring in both games with 19 against Chapel Hill and 13 against Van.

Also on a two game winning streak is the 8th grade "B" team. They defeated Van 15-6 and Chapel Hill 9-2.

In 7th grade the "A" team was led in scoring by Jacobi Parker in a 40-10 route of Chapel Hill.

Finally the 7th grade "B" team is perfect on the season with a 18-7 win over Chapel Hill and a 10-8 come-frombehind win over Van.

The girls play at BJHS on Monday, December 3 against Bullard starting at 5pm.

Junior High Bears

Facing off against Chapel Hill the Junior High Bears split four games with the 8th grade losing two and the 7th grade winning two.

The 8th grade "A" team lost 42-38 as two players scored in double figures.

Cheston Becknal scored 6 points as the 8th grade "B" team lost 16-10.

No player score in double figures but in a great team effort the 7th grade "A" team won 37-10. Taylor Beall led the team with 9 points.

Winning 19-12 was the 7th grade "B" team as they scored at least four points in every period of play.

The Bears will host the "A" team Brownsboro Tournament this weekend at BJHS.
