Willie Lee Palmore Services for Willie Lee Palmore, 84, of Tyler, were held Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 2 pm at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Bill Goble officiating. Services were under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Palmore was born August 5, 1923, in Sierra Blanca, Texas to Dewitt and Eula Lee Knight. She passed away December 1, 2007 in Chandler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy B. Palmore, and grandson Chesley Palmore. Mrs. Palmore was a resident of Tyler for over 60 years. She was a member of Fifth Street Presbyterian Church of Tyler. She was a retired college professor of 23 years at Tyler Junior College where she taught Anatomy and Physiology, and Biology. She received her Bachelors degree from North Texas State University and her Masters degree from Texas A&M University of Commerce. Mrs. Palmore was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the PEO, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Julie Palmore of Tyler; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lexie and Jim McMillen of Uncertain, Texas, and Bonnie and William F. "Bill" Golden of Chandler; and brother, Thomas D. Knight of Livingston, Texas. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Wendy Fugate and husband Phil of Chandler, and Dawn and Kim Golden, both of Chandler. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Anna Fugate of Chandler. Pallbearers were Jim McMillen, William F. "Bill" Golden, William W. Golden, Lynn McCullough and Phil Fugate. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 4144 North Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas, TX 75204; Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, Texas; and Fifth Street Presbyterian Church in Tyler. |
