Sub-Varsity Basketball With just one game last week the Junior Varsity Bearettes made the most of it as they improved to 7-2 on the season with a 49-28 win over Henderson last Tuesday. Chelsea Chambers two 3- pointers and Hillary Shaffer led the Bearettes in scoring with nine points. Jessica Caviness also had a three for the girls in the win. Brownsboro took a 30-7 lead into the halftime break. The Bearettes will take part in the Jacksonville Tournament beginning today.

Freshman Bearettes Henderson upset the Freshman Bearettes efforts for a perfect week as they defeated Brownsboro 35-13 in Henderson last Tuesday. Tiffany Hurd led Brownsboro in scoring with seven points. Brownsboro will take part in the Jacksonville Tournament that starts today and last through Saturday.
Hurd 7, Holcomb 3, Delgado 2, Smith 2. Junior Varsity Bears In a complete blow out the Junior Varsity Bears dominated the Troup Tigers last Tuesday in Brownsboro. The Bears defeated Troup 62-21 as Bret Ralson led the team in scoring with 13 points. Daniel Myer and Ryan Owens each had two 3-pointers for the Bears in the win. James Cofer also had a three for the Bears. All 12 players that played for the Bears scored in the game. Over the weekend the Bears took part in the Kemp Tournament. Brownsboro opened the tournament with a 71-48 win over host Kemp. Leading the team in scoring against Kemp was Jon Jon Thompson. Four players scored in double figures for the Bears. Myer and Cofer each had a three in the game. Brownsboro edged Wills Point in the second game of the tournament 69-61. Cofer and Myer both sank three pointers as Bret Ralson led the team in scoring with 16 points in the win. In their final game of the tournament the Bears fell to the hands of Crandall 41-31. The loss dropped the Bears to 4-2 on the season. Demario Richard hit 2 three point shots while Myer added one. Starting today the Bears will take part in the Athens Tournament.

Freshman Bears Troup did not field a Freshman team last week for the Freshman Bears to play against so a few freshmen played with the Junior Varsity last Tuesday. Last Thursday the freshman team was back in tact as they took on the Kemp Yellow Jackets in the Kemp Tournament. Kemp outscored the Bears 16-13 in the final period to take a 38-36 win. Corbin Duke led the Bears in scoring with 8 points. He also had a three point shot. In the second game of the tournament the Bears defeated Wills Point by the score of 34- 20 after shutting out the Tigers in the first period. Leading scorer for the Bears was Ryan Owens with nine points. DeAndre Taylor hit a three point shot. Ferris was the Bears final opponent of the tournament and Brownsboro took the game by the score of 45-27. Collin Mason led the Bears in scoring with seven points against Ferris. Owens had a three pointer in the win. Beginning today the Bears will take part in the Athens Tournament.
