Bears split week of action in Brownsboro

After starting the season on the road the Bears came home to Brownsboro last Tuesday with a record of 2-2 to face a 1-1 Troup Tiger squad.
Troup outscored the Bears 12-8 in the first period before the Bears rallied back in front of a lively home crowd to take a 23-21 lead at the half.
Prior to the game both starting lineups were announced and the National Anthem was played adding to the atmosphere of the home opener.
Brownsboro continued their second period rally in the second half as they outscored the Tigers 45-26 to earn a 21- point victory, 68-47.
All 11 players that suited up for the Bears played in the game. Not only did they all play, they all scored at least two points.
Andrew Adair led all Bears in scoring with 12 points. He was also the only Bear to land a three point shot.
Troup was kept alive in the game by a big night from Reginald Wade. Wade scored 32 points and made five 3-point shots.

Seth Martin, Charlie Stringer and Ryan Smith all had nine points for the Bears.
On Friday night the Bears hosted the Palestine Wildcats and took an early first period lead before heading into the half tied at 25.
After leading by as much as eight points in the first period the Bears could not hold on as the Wildcats headed up in the second half.
Palestine outscored the Bears 36-20 in the second half as team quickness played a key factor. Palestine won the game 61-45. Brownsboro held a brief lead to start the third period before the Wildcats pulled away.
Broox Nichelson, Adair and Smith all nailed a three for the Bears while four Bears tied for the team lead in scoring with 8 points. Tristian Warren had 13 rebounds for the Bears, Smith six assists.
Brownsboro (3-3) will host the Great East Texas Shootout this weekend with games starting on Thursday.
The Bears will tip-off against All Saints at 12:15pm on Thursday in the high school gym.
