Bearettes set for Great East Texas Shootout

Improving to 6-3 on the season the Brownsboro Bearettes won three of four games played last week, all on the road.

Beginning the week of action in Henderson the Bearettes defeated the Lady Lions by the score of 68-28.

Three Bearettes scored in double figures in the win. Bianca Mosley led the team in scoring with 17 points while Chelsea Chimney (11) and Sabrina Bradley (12) teamed up for 23 points.

Brittney Lee and Monica Redfearn each had a three pointer for the Bearettes.

Brownsboro outscored the Lady Lions 24-3 in the first half before building a 41-7 halftime lead.

Playing Winona in the Lindale Hoop Heaven tournament last Thursday the Bearettes rolled to another easy win, 52-23. Brownsboro controlled the entire game and led 30-13 at the half.

Monica Redfearn nailed two 3-pointers as part of her team high 14 points and Brittney Lee hit one three in the win.

Game two of the tournament played on Friday the Bearettes ran into their first loss of the week 68-44 against Grace Community.

Chimney led the Bearettes in scoring with 20 points, she hit 2 three point shots in the game.

On Saturday the Bearettes tipped off against Kilgore, a Class 4A team, and defeated the Lady Bulldogs 59-42.

Chimney topped her previous tournament high 20 points with 22 points in the win. LeCandace Bell (11) and Bianca Mosley (14) both scored in double figures in the 17 point win. Bell had one 3- pointer.

Brownsboro will be the site of the annual Great East Texas Shootout this weekend. Games begin on Thursday at several Brownsboro gyms.
