Union Hill Baptist
by Mickey Bigbie

The Union Hill sanctuary is now adorned in its Christmas finery, beautiful as it is readied for the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The morning service began with the lighting of the Advent Candle of Praise by Steve and Linda Goodrich, daughter Kim Brown and husband Drew. What a joyous time we had singing the beautiful Christmas carols, listening to the reading from Luke 1:26- 37 and the wonderful message from Brother Bill that followed. It's such a special time of the year. Love it!

Choir members participating in the Christmas Cantata will meet again to practice at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday the 16th. You are invited to attend the Christmas Cantata on Sunday evening, December 23rd. Director, Steve Goodrich, and the choir members have worked very hard and it will be a beautiful service for certain.

Surely you have seen the Union Hill volunteers manning the Salvation Army kettles at Brookshire's in Chandler. They are there each Saturday. If you do not have your name on the list, check in with Glenda or Steve at the church because emergencies and illnesses do come up and there might be an hour that needs coverage. Blessings abound!

Speaking of blessings, remember that our youth ministry will be ready to sort and hand out Christmas cards for you and they will wrap your gifts.

The youth will have their Christmas party on Wednesday, the 19th, at 6:30 p.m. Each one is asked to bring a gift to exchange. The gift should be appropriate for either a girl or a boy and should not cost over ten dollars. After Christmas, on the evening of the 29th, the youth will have an outing dinner and movie. They will meet at the church at 5:00 p.m.

Senior Moments has been postponed until Thursday evening, December 20th.

Wednesday evening, the 26th, we will have family fellowship at the church. How much fun it will be to get together and share Christmas experiences.

As 2007 draws to a close, the time comes to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. Come do that with us. Join us at the church on New Year's Eve, beginning at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, movie, games and fellowship. What better way to bring in the New Year than with your loving church family.

We know you're busy, busy this time of the year ... much to do, but let's not forget to include the Lord in our plans. When it's your birthday, you are the center of the plans being made, aren't you? Well ... it's His birthday and would you be having all this Christmas season fun, had it not been for Him?

See you on the hill.
