West Lake Baptist Christmas Musical: The 40- member WLBC Celebration Choir, presented an Amazing drama supported musical, "Bringing Home Christmas," on Sunday morning. We appreciate all of the cast, singers, stage designers, lighting and sound technicians, and drama coordinator for presenting a first class, eyecatching, heart stirring production that brought glory to Jesus Christ. There were around 400 in attendance. And -- we'd like to thank the guests who were in attendance. Baptism: The Sunday morning service began with Ally Cooper being baptized. She is the daughter of Meagan and Russell Cooper. Children's Musical: The WLBC children's choir presented the children's musical during the night service - one week ago. There were approximately 30 children who participated in this drama-supported production. We appreciate Nancy Hopson for her leadership and service as the director of the children's choir, and all of those who so faithfully assist Nancy. And we appreciate all of the parents, and family members of the children who allow them to participate in this great ministry. Christmas Mission Offering: It is time for the annual collection of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This is the annual offering that goes to fund over 5,000 International Missionaries of the Southern Baptist Convention. We urge you to make this a part of your gift giving this Christmas - you'll be blessed, and you'll be a blessing. Missions Program: During the monthly WMU meeting Linda McQuaid presented a well researched discussion of Moldova - a country which was a part of the former Soviet Union. It was a moving, well received presentation. And several men were in attendance as well. Lottie Moon Christmas Post Office is in the foyer of the Sanctuary. You are encouraged to give the amount of postage, put your Christmas Cards in the post office. Leave the amount of postage in an envelope beside the post office on the table, and it will be given toward the mission offering. This was a well enjoyed effective program last year, and we're pleased to offer it again. WMU ladies will be presenting a Christmas program and gifts to the residents of the Chandler Nursing Center, at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 19. Christmas Fellowships: It's that time of the year, in which there is a Christmas Sunday School or Organization party/fellowship most every night of the week. Please check your bulletin for a complete list. While a number of groups met last week, this week the Young Married Couples Class, The Agape Class, the Deacons, and the Senior Adult Choir, and the Children's Sunday School will all hold meetings. |
