Vesta Lee Wilkerson

Services for Vesta Lee Wilkerson, 95, Chandler, were held Saturday at Eubank Funeral Home chapel, Canton, with Brother James Golden officiating.

Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.

Mrs. Wilkerson died Dec. 8, 2007, in Tyler. She was born May 2, 1912, in Garden Valley to the late John Frank and Vesta Lee Hall Steele.

She was one of the first women hired to work at North American Vaught during World War II and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Brownsboro, and former member of Edom PTA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wilkerson, in 1994.

Survivors include daughter, Rita Ray Midkiff, Chandler; son, John Doyle Wilkerson, Chandler; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
