Freshman Bearettes

Playing in the Van Tournament last weekend the Freshman Bearettes claimed third place with a 50-43 victory over Mabank.

Round one of the tournament the Bearettes defeated LaPoyner by the score of 32- 24. Chelsea Holcomb led the Bearettes in scoring with 13 points. Carley Smith nailed the Bearettes lone 3-pointer in the game.

Brownsboro fell to Lindale by the score of 29-17 in round two, the semifinals. Tiffany Hurd scored a team high 12 points for the Bearettes.

Facing Mabank for the chance to win third place Hurd (20) and Holcomb (15) combined for 35 points to lead the Bearettes to the 50-43 win. Smith sank a three in the victory.

Last Tuesday the Bearettes scheduled game against Sabine was canceled by Sabine.

Brownsboro will take part in the Bearette Double Header following the Christmas Holiday. The girls will tipoff against LaPoyner at noon on December 28 and at 1:15 on December 29 against Van.

On Saturday January 5 the Bearettes will host the Brownsboro Tournament. Their first game will be against Ferris at 10:15am. If the Bearettes win they will play in the Championship at 4pm. If they lose they will play at 1:45pm.

Brownsboro is 6-7 on the season and will begin District play on January 4 against Van.
