Urgent! Meals On Wheels in the Chandler area is in Real Need for a volunteer to deliver meals to some people. This is an opportunity for someone to give back and receive a blessing. It will only take about an hour of your time to deliver to 25 needy individuals in our community and for only one day a week. The meals will be picked up at the Community Center to be delivered.Please call Kimberly Laws at (903)849-2252.

The CBACC Dec. Noon Luncheon will be Dec. 20 at Presley's in Chandler.

Sign-up for the 2008 Girl's Little Dribblers season is now underway. Applications are available for pick-up at Brownsboro Elementary, Brownsboro Intermediate, Chandler Elementary, Chandler Intermediate, and Murchison School. The deadline for entry is Dec. 31, 2007.

Santa is coming to Sonic Dec. 20 from 4-8 PM. The first 50 people to bring a new toy worth $5 or more, unwrapped will receive a free Sonic burger coupon.

Rock Hill Baptist Church will have a Candlelight Service on Sunday, December 22 at 6PM including Christmas carols and special music. 10768 CR 3405, Brownsboro.

First United Methodist Church in Murchison invites the community to a Christmas Eve Worship Service on Dec. 24 at 6:30 PM in the church sanctuary. The public is invited. Silly City Daycare will have a New Year's Eve Ball at the Chandler Community Center. This is a black-tie event, with dinner being served at 7:00 PM. Single tickets are $15 and couples are $25. There will be a live D.J. and dancing. Tickets are limited and need to be purchased in advance by calling 903-849-5333.

Casey Rivers will be performing at First Baptist Church of Edom 9714 FM 314 on Sunday, Jan. 6 during morning worship service. Morning worship service begins at 10:45 AM. Everyone welcome to attend. The Brownsboro Theater Angels are now distributing for Homemade Gourmet. You can help us support the fine arts by purchasing your homemade gourmet thru our website www.homemadegourmet.com/ brownsborotheaterangels or pick up selected products at Ellis Mercantile on Hwy 31 east of Chandler on north side of highway before FM 2661. Lake Palestine United Methodist Church has collected the best recipes from group members, family, and friends and compiled them into an attractive, keepsake cookbook. They will begin selling them on Nov. 12. The cookbooks may be purchased from any church member, or at the church. All proceeds will go to the Angel Food Trailer Fund. Starting Dec. 13 and every Thursday following, St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Athens will host a day care service for Senior Citizens at 2101 East College St. Care will be available from 8AM-4PM. Lunch will be served at noon. The fee for the service is $4 for the first hour and $3 for each additional hour. There are limitations on guests that may be accommodated; reservations are required. The Chandler Lions Club meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Chandler Community Center at 7pm. Meetings consist of dinner, meeting and a program. Anyone interested in giving back to the community through the Lions organization is invited to attend.

The Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary meets the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 31 east in Athens. A covered dish meal is served at 6:30pm with the meeting to follow. All members and prospective members are urged to attend.
