Lake Palestine U.M.C.
by Barbara Cade

Because of an early deadline this week, I am having to write this column before all the Christmas festivities, knowing that it will be read after Christmas. Rest assured that next week, we will find out all that this congregation did to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

We do know that Diane Kelder is continuing to improve following her surgery. Charles Johnson is also doing better in the Dallas hospital. Larry Rogers also had a good surgery and is continuing to improve.

Joyce and Bill Martin were spotted in Wal-Mart on Thursday as they were getting some last minute gifts for friends and family.

Ken and Barb Cade's niece and nephew, Kelly Garvin and John Garvin came in for the holidays from Austin and Seattle, respectively.

The Prathers left right after the Christmas Eve service to have Christmas with Richard's mother in San Antonio and then they went on to Houston to have Christmas with Rebecca's mother and family.

Of course, they will be back in time for the worship service on Sunday, December 30th. On this Sunday, there will be only one service at 10 AM. Also, Sunday school classes will meet as usual.

We pray that everyone has had a wonderful and safe Christmas and that the New Year will be wonderful and blessed, also. Praise God for new beginnings.
