Overflowing with gifts
Hometown Heroes wish to congratulate generous individuals in the Brownsboro Independent School District area. Thanks to the spirit of giving, Hometown Heroes received so many gifts for needy children the Brownsboro community center couldn't hold it all in one room. Among the gifts are around 14 bikes, 12 CD players, and a lot of toys. Money was also given for warm clothing and groceries. And all this with a late start. Pictured are six members of Hometown Heroes who helped to catalogue what was given in preparation for needy families to pick the gifts up in time for Christmas. Left to right: Sergeant Dawn Cunningham, Food Fast manager Debora McCalister, Office Assistant Lois Shields, Ron Shields, City Secretary Sonyia Foster, Officer Lonnie McKinney. The gifts will all go towards families in the BISD system. "can't personally give enough gratification to the people who were so open-heartedly helpful in the donation of toys and money," Shields said.
