Billy Gene Bristow Services for Billy Gene Bristow, 74, Brownsboro, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Brownsboro, with Tommy Weems and A.W. Cooper officiating. Burial was in Rock Hill Cemetery under direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Athens. Mr. Bristow died Dec. 17, 2007, in Athens. He was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Henderson County to the late Erskin and Lena Evelyn Walker Bristow. He graduated from LaPoynor High School and attended Henderson County Junior College in Athens, received his Bachelor's degree from Baptist Christian College of Shreveport, La., and his master's degree from Calvary College, Eufaula, Okla. He was a Baptist minister for more than 43 years in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado and Arkansas. After retiring in 1997, he moved to Brownsboro. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Bristow. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Wynell Rhodes Bristow, Brownsboro; sons, Danny Lee Bristow and Robert Gene Bristow, both of Brownsboro; daughters, Pamela Jean Bristow Pruitt, Gray, Tenn., Kimberly Ann Bristow Hardy, Brownsboro, and Paula Dare Bristow McDonald, Clute; brother, Terry Bristow, New York community; sisters, Rose Holcomb, Larue, and Peggy Clayton, Brownsboro; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Holcomb, Richard Holcomb, Matt Holcomb, Bryan Bristow, Kyle Riley, Jeffery Reynolds, Ronald Reynolds and Wes Dingler. |
