The Garden of Eatin' - Around 350 people came Sunday night for the Garden of Eatin' church-wide dinner fellowship at 6:30. The event was to honor Luke Bilberry, our new full-time minister of students and his wife Catherine. It was an exciting time of fellowship with themed areas provided by the Sunday school classes including The Italian Bistro, The Casa Praise Fiesta, The Evangels' Confectionary, The Faith Soup Kitchen, The Agape Cafe, The Discipleship Diner, The Oasis Country Corner, and The Schmidt & Co. Deli. For the morning service we were blessed with a filled worship center; a great spirit-enthusiastic worship, a time of biblical verse by verse preaching, and two professions of faith.
Student Minister: Luke Bilberry began this Sunday as WLBC's fulltime minister of students. We're delighted to have Luke and are excited about all that God is doing at WLBC. The church has six fullby time staff members to serve you. The offices are open 8-5, Monday through Friday to serve you.
Easter Worship Concert: The Celebration Choir will present the multi-media supported worship musical "He Is Risen" this Sunday night at 6:30.
"We Can Work it Out" - Broken hearts. Strained relationships, Severed ties. Is there a better way? In the pastor's new verse by verse teaching through the book of Philemon we'll examine the hard, but blessed work of reconciliation and discover why it should never be a second choice for Christians. Though one of the shortest books in the Bible, these brief 25 verses of Philemon can be the words God uses to transform your situation. Message titles include: "The First Step Toward Change"; "Building Bridges"; "The Hard Work of Reconciliation "; and "Living for Change."
"Women of Faith" - Sign-up is underway for this important wellattended event. To be a part of the WLBC group that will attend, contact the church office, or sign up in the foyer.
Discipleship University - Got questions about life? The Bible has the answers to those questions - and we are committed to helping you find those solutions. If you sometimes struggle to answer the questions of the secularists and evolutionists, consider attending WLBC's "The Answers Academy, " taught by biologist Clayton Nicholardi. This 9-week study is offered at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays in the worship center. You're welcome to attend, and we promise you won't be asked to say anything, read anything, or put on the spot in any way. Just come, sit back, and enjoy the teaching - no pressure. The Answers Academy is a part of the spring semester of WLBC's Discipleship University.
Also being currently offered is the "Crown Financial: Biblical Financial Study," an intensive money management course for Christians. Though the course is currently full, we'd be happy to discuss fall registration with you. "The Patriarchs" is the Beth Moore DVD supported in-depth Bible study being offered to ladies on Sundays at 4:30, led by Cindy Pierce. And available on Thursday nights at 7:00 is "He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear from God," a Priscilla Shirer study (Priscilla is the daughter of pastor/ speaker Dr. Tony Evans), led by Tanya Essary.
