Everyone managed to get to the church last Sunday even though Daylight Saving Time began. They may have been sleepy, but they were there.

A good crowd attended the fellowship meal after the service. There's always lots of good food there.

We were also happy to have Gail Johnson leading the music at the 8:30 a.m. service, and the 10:50 service was blessed with a special by a men's quartet consisting of Herb Botts, Rev. Richard Prather, Dale Whisenhunt and John Riveire. They sang "Peace in the Valley."

It's getting close to Easter, so Carla wants to remind all choir members that practices are still on Wednesday nights at 7:00. There will be special music for Easter.

LeAnn Boggs is still in ICU in the hospital, but she is doing better. We pray that she will be home soon.

Donna Franko is still sick with a cold or the flu. Rich Franko had it for awhile, but he is better now.

Three members from the church braved the bad weather last Friday night to attend the ACTS meeting at Marvin UMC. They were Herb Botts, Barb Cade and Rev. Richard Prather.

Angela Martin announced that she probably has about all the plastic eggs she needs, but there is still a need for the candy to fill those eggs. The Easter egg hunt will be March 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Charles Johnson continues to improve in rehab in Tyler.

Miranda Rowan has to have some medical tests this week.

We are also praying for Dan and Dorothy Newsom as Dan has just entered Hospice.

There was a beautiful rose placed on the altar in honor of Cooper David Price's birth this last Sunday. He had to make a little trip to the hospital for breathing problems, but is doing great now.

We will be praying for Jan Decker as she undergoes knee surgery. We want her up and about quickly.

Next Tuesday, March 18th, the church has something very special to look forward to. There will be a Seder meal in the evening with a representative from Jews for Jesus talking about the history and importance of the meal. Rev. Richard has sent around a sign-up sheet for those interested in attending, but he does need to know the exact number because of the tables to set up, etc. It should be fun.

Of course, that is just the beginning of the Holy Week activities. There will be a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, a Tennebrae service on Friday and then on Easter, a sunrise service at around 7 a.m. and the regular service at 10:50. There will also be the normal Sunday school classes. Plan to put all of these on your calendar now. It should be an exciting and Spirit-filled week.
