The grand opening of the Stone Brothers Coffee shop is scheduled for Thursday. The shop is located on Highway 31 in Chandler. Over half a year in the making, the shop will be the newest building on the street.

Carey Crist, president of Crist Developments, partnered with Lance Dunton to form Cri- Dun in 2007. Plans for the shop formed from this partnership.

The coffee shop is over 1,100 square feet in size with an outdoor sitting area, sofas, stools and round tables.

It will have specialty drinks from cappuccinos, frappuccinos and espressos to fruit smoothies and energy drinks.

In addition to coffee and specialty drinks, Stone Brothers' will sell breakfast pastries and lunch items such as wraps and sandwiches.

Inside the shop, coffee enthusiasts will be treated to free internet for their laptops.

Crist said the shop could become the alternative to Tyler coffee for passersby.

"There are approximately 38,000 people driving by Chandler each day," Crist said.

Crist also said he feels confident this business will be good for Chandler.

The shop will have up to eight employees working separate shifts.

The coffee roaster selected was the Chandlerbased company Coffee City USA.
